Time: Noon - 1:00pm MT

Location: ICF-CO Zoom Meeting Room

Minimum: 5; Maximum: 7

CCEs: TBD

This learning group series offers an introduction to equine-facilitated coaching, a powerful somatic coaching practice that takes place on the ground in partnership with horses.

Through groundwork exercises, participants will explore presence, self-inquiry, deep listening, boundaries, collaborative leadership, non-predatory uses of power, and more. As individuals and as a group, participants will examine how these areas manifest in their personal leadership and in their coaching practices with clients.

Participants will engage in one-on-one and group groundwork exercises in the round pen with the horses, allowing each person to explore their leadership strengths and challenges. Immediate and actionable feedback from the horses facilitates the integration of new leadership styles and behaviors in real time.

This approach utilizes various forms of groundwork exercises that unite horse and human in a collaborative co-learning process. This process reveals how participants relate to themselves and others, creating new understandings of personal leadership and deepening participants abilities to work with their clients in somatic and relational ways.

Key Learning Points / Experiential Learning:
- Experiential exercises grounded in natural horsemanship techniques explore connection, boundaries, nervous system regulation, energetic impact, and individual and collective dynamics.
- Identifying personal leadership strengths and challenges and, aided by feedback from the horses, and working with these dynamics in real time.
- Opportunities for individual and group interpersonal exploration and feedback around translating these skills into client contexts.
- Deepening somatic awareness and presence, and understanding the place of these qualities in participant experiences and in work with clients.
