In this group, we’ll focus on building the skill of Direct Communication and sharing observations and feedback, which is applicable in individual and team coaching. We will also be strengthening the competency of Ethical Practice (particularly sensitivity to clients’ identity, environment, experiences, values and beliefs). We will do this by developing our own somatic/body awareness, having group discussions about topics of identity and beliefs and what comes up for us somatically around these topics, and practicing giving/receiving feedback to each other.
Key Learning Points
- Practice giving and receiving feedback to each other (whether in the context of individual or team coaching, which requires more co-creating the agenda, in order to create safety and expression).
- Develop somatic awareness (feeling, sensing, and perceiving in the body as well as the mind).
- Explore topics like the identity wheel, race, gender, sexuality, etc. to get more comfortable with and improve awareness of the influence of context and culture on self and others.
Experiential Learning:
There will be somatic practices, as well as other creative processes, to engage the body as well as the mind in the topics we will explore together.
