"The Role of Psychological Safety in Training and Coaching for DEIB"
Presenter: Dr. Patrick Williams, MCC
Date and Time: May 17, 2021 from 4:00 - 5:00pm MT
Audience: Coaches and Coach educators
Emotional Intelligence has long been an important aspect to include and teach in Coach training and in coaching. But one cannot express their emotions and relationship triggers at work without Psychological Safety. This term was first coined in 1999 by Harvard business school professor, Amy Edmondson. This was rediscovered in a famous research study of effective teams by Google (the Aristotle Project) in 2012. To their surprise, the data showed it was not just "who” was put on a team with diversity in mind, but that the best teams were those with certain norms and behaviors, by far the most important of which was found to be psychological safety. Therefore, this presentation will impart new research and actions for ACTO organizations to embrace in their training. AND, it will also reveal the importance in the coaching relationship, given the 2021 competencies emphasis on Coaching Mindset and awareness of the client's and coach's emotions during coaching.

In doing a search on the term "personality test" in Google, the results came back at 474,000,000 items. Wow! How do I get clarity about which one to use? When I first began coaching I was encouraged to use an assessment, and told it would be another income stream for me. After over 25 years in my Coaching Practice I've found some insights about the who, what and when of assessments. With the challenging times we've been experiencing, assessments have the potential to be helpful and useful.
The intention is for participants to leave with more clarity and awareness about assessments and be able to make choices that support them in their practice, business or in knowing what assessment to participate in for themselves.

"Demystifying Presence: Embodied Awareness Generates Inspired Action"
Presenter: Robyn McCulloch, MS, MSC, PCC and Jennifer Reitz, MSC, PCC
Date and Time: May 23, 2021 from 1:00 - 2:00pm MT
Audience: Anyone who wants to lead themselves and others with greater capacity
This is an invitation to consider radical transformation in how you lead your life and lead others. We must cultivate and deepen our somatic intelligence for embodied use of self. In an era of transformative and traumatic disruptions, developing a centered presence is fundamental—a powerful presence invites authentic connection. Evolution requires courageously extending safety and belonging to others.
The upheaval of 2020 resulted in a universal legacy of contraction, an internal shaping that fuels
our reactive self. Rigorous and recurrent body-oriented practices re-shape and re-wire the triggered
brain. When musculature, organs, fascial and central nervous systems reorganize, novel ways of
"being" are accessed.
Purposeful alignment of thoughts, words, and actions with what we care about results in palpable congruence, or trustworthiness. This allows us to focus on what matters most. Mastery in maintaining equanimity under pressure grows. This is the most efficacious use of self. Holding our common humanity with dignity is essential.
