Virtual Program (Zoom) Speaker: Elise James DeCruise
The focus of the evening will be the role of psychological safety to support coaching, including how to create a safe environment. Elise will share specific examples of how intent can differ from impact, and how to get comfortable dealing with mishaps.
Psychological safety is the principle that where we allow people to feel safe in the workplace and allow them to contribute their ideas and concerns, we are considerably more likely to develop a culture of knowledge and innovation. This is the basis for the ICF Core Competency of Cultivates Trust and Safety, which is described as “Partners with the client to create a safe, supportive environment that allows the client to share freely. Maintains a relationship of mutual respect and trust.”
We will explore these concepts and identify ways to foster a culture that exhibits psychological safety principles, introduce best practices and next practices and ways in which to create micro and macro experiences within your organization.
